When you're walking with me, you never know what you're going to get!
We spent Saturday morning and afternoon walking at Chestnut Ridge Park. Four miles into our walk, I decided to chat while turning off of pavement and onto a stone path. Well, in about one foot twist and a 360-degree spin, I crashed right onto a gravel walkway. Before I knew it, I was on my back with Caitlin and Healy standing above me, looking horrified.
I instantly felt the sting of the scratches and brush burns that still remain on my legs. As my legs started bleeding I realized there was about five people around, staring at me like a crazy person. A nice, young couple asked me if they could do anything, which I appreciated, but all I could hope for was to get up and out of there!
I freaked out for a few seconds, but then realized the girls needed a minute to laugh at me. I let them have their time but then made them walk with me to our car so I could get cleaned up! Only true friends bandage up your gross scratches!
I should take a minute to tell you about the rest of our walk! After my crash landing, we had a really wonderful walk/hike!

We walked up the "blue" trail in Chestnut Ridge Park. It was a really beautiful walk and definitely let us feel a little removed from reality for awhile. We were happy we decided to switch it up a bit and try a trail.
We talked all about San Fran, what we'll do when we get there and what we expect the 3-day to be like. We discussed the kinds of people we expect to meet, and how emotional this journey might be. As excited as we are, we are full of curiosity too!
You fit well into our family......if you don't know "Uncle Eric stories" yet.......do ask Aaron! I'm recovering from bruised ribs...trip, fall 'nuf said! You are a trooper and I'm proud to be one of your sponsors and for such a worthy cause!!!! Aunt Karen
